Jill Hossley is originally from a farming community in South Dakota where she and her two brothers were born and raised. Her father served in the military and currently practices law in Jill’s hometown. Her mother is a retired high school English teacher. Armed with mid-western, conservative values and ethics, Jill now represents individuals whose rights have been violated by corporations. Her practice has a single focus -- help the injured.
Following high school, she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude with a double major in English and Criminal Justice from the University of South Dakota. Before graduating from the University of Tulsa School of Law in Oklahoma, she worked on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. for a South Dakota senator on commerce issues and foreign relations. She also spent over a year in Phoenix, Arizona working for the Governor on environmental matters and with Arizona’s Pardon and Parole Board.
Following law school, Jill moved to Dallas, Texas where she worked for several boutique firms before she and her husband, Allen, started their own litigation firm in 1996. The firm started with only one case, a case where they represented an injured person against a multi-billion dollar corporation, and won. As the firm’s client base grew, so did the need for more attorneys and ultimately, the friendship between Jeff and Renna Embry led to a partnership with this husband and wife team and the creation of Hossley & Embry, L.L.P. Jill and her husband have three children and make their home in Tyler, Texas. Jill serves on the board for Habitat for Humanity and the SPCA of Tyler.
