Renna Rhodes Embry moved from Dallas in 2001 to start the firm of Hossley & Embry, L.L.P. in Tyler, Texas. Born and raised in Tyler, Renna moved back to help represent fellow East Texans injured by the harmful conduct of others. Renna holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Texas Tech University and was a four-year letterman in Women’s Tennis. In 1997, she attained her J.D., cum laude, from St. Mary’s University of San Antonio, Texas. Renna attended St. Mary’s University on a Dean’s Scholarship and made the Dean’s list each semester of her three-year tenure. During school, Renna was Associate Editor of the St. Mary’s Law Journal, and published PRINCIPLES OF GOVERNMENTAL IMMUNITY IN TEXAS: THE TEXAS GOVERNMENT WAIVES SOVEREIGN IMMUNITY WHEN IT CONTRACTS — OR DOES IT?. Renna also gained valuable experience working for John Cornyn while he was a Texas Supreme Court Justice.
Following law school, Renna worked in the litigation group at the Dallas office Jones, Day, Reavis, and Pogue. During her five years with Jones, Day, Renna defended major national companies in both personal injury and commercial claims. Armed with the knowledge from that experience, she now fights companies similar to those she once represented when their egregious conduct causes harm to others.
Renna is married to Jeff Embry and has three children, Mason, Dylan, and Ella.
