Over 100 million Americans will likely travel during the Christmas and New Year’s holiday season, and the number of people traveling has been rising for the past seven years.

The overwhelming majority — 91% — of long-distance travel (traveling to a destination more than 50 miles away) takes place in personal vehicles, like cars, SUVs, motorcycles, etc.
